Hehe. Not that I should have so many characters, but... whatever. I have a lot of nice references and they give me so many ideas. D:>
So, here's a few of the references I've gathered and what my general idea for them is, if I even have any.
Ref 2 ;; A washed-up singer-songwriter whom loved to play guitar. Is a complete hermit a lives alone, and acts like an old man in that he yells at people to "Git off mah propr'ty", though not quite like that. Sort of given up on life.
Ref 3 ;; A young man whom loves life and is very into nature. Not many other ideas.
Ref 4 ;; An eighteen-year-old street urchin whom gets in so many fights that he always has black eyes and bruises. Ignorant, not too mature, and hates authority with a passion. A fairly typical teen whom hasn't yet to grow up, and he still doesn't know what to do with his life.
Ref 5 ;; A man whom honestly thinks that he is a god of sorts, because he was raised by a freak cult of sorts. Believes that one day his father, "God of all Gods, Father of all Gods" will descend from Heaven to Earth and bless the world.
Ref 6 ;; A young man whom was trying to experiment in genetic DNA worked on himself. He infused Eevee, Flareon, Leomag, and Vulpix DNA into himself, and ended up a strange mutt. He'd have since stopped working with DNA, not wanting to ruin his body even further, since his organs have taking a beating. He still toils in the sciences, though. Not many other ideas.
Ref 7 ;; A man whom was the son of a Luck Goddess, he brings strangely good fortune to his lovers. He is very selective, however. He's a gentleman, polite, and classy. He has small bits of Adler DNA in him from his great-great grandmother, whom was an Adler pokemorph, while everyone else was human.
Ref 8 ;; Don't really have any ideas for him... He just has a super pretty face. c: Probably raised in the arctic, would have a preference over ice-types. I really, really love this reference. @w@;;
Ref 9 ;; A junkie of sorts whom is good with chemistry and makes his own drugs. He's a street urchin whom works his ass off during the night for money, which includes crafting and dealing drugs, and whom tries to go to school during the day, wanting to go to a college or something and become a Chemistry major to put his knowledge to better use--and to get access to better chems.
Ref 10 ;; Well, the first thing you'll notice is, yeah, it's a female. But I should probably come out of my shell. Eh. Anyway, the idea behind her is that she was raised from birth by her parents to be very paranoid about the government. They trained her in guns and hand-held weapons, home-schooled her, and basically kept her in her home all her life. When her parents were found dead in the city, she was suddenly taken out of her comfortable, protected home life and tossed into a house that expected her to be active in the community, including sports, friends, and general things that teenagers should do. It was a hard adjustment and most people hated her. She's better than she was at first, but is still really sharp-tongued and often threatens people with the knives she carries around. She's authorized to carry weapons through permits, though, so she avoids being arrested.
Ref 11 ;; A girl raised in a farming town, she was brought up around Pokémon but not entrusted with her own until recently. She is very talented in riding wild Pok?mon, like Ponyta, Rapidash, even Tauros. She knows how to survive in the wilderness, and wants to breed Pokémon. Not many ideas outside of that. And yeah, another girl idea.
Ref 12 ;; A guy obsessed with Halloween, he has a disturbingly morbid curiosity and finds absolute beauty in the form of death. He cherishes death, but also life, and sees everything from a philosophical viewpoint that is far beyond his years. He loves candy, though, and would be an absolute sucker for sugar. He's killed before, and wouldn't mind doing it again.
Ref 13 ;; A guy who grew up as "trailer trash" and never seemed happy, he's turned into a man with respect for Pok?mon, the environment, and not much else. He's pretty smart and loves reading, but is a complete recluse and gets panicy in social situations because he thinks everyone is purposely making him feel like he's being chocked, that everyone is watching him, and that they want to kill him. He also absolutely hates being touched and will often freak out if someone touches him--especially if it's uninvited.
Ref 14 ;; A boy that was born of a half-Tauros 'morph and a half-Meowth 'morph, he bears little semblance of either of his parents' species besides the horns and the elliptic, shining, golden feline eyes. He is a smart young man of about seventeen [17] and has spent his entire life devoted to studying clocks, mechanics, and how they function. He is smart when it comes to machinery and computers, and loves tinkering with small electronics as a hobby. He's a bit afraid of Pok?mon, but still wants to try raising at least one someday.
Ref 15 ;; A kid whose obsessed with explosives and has had to have both his hands as well as his entire left arm sewn back on at least one occasion. His fingertips are always burnt to a black crisp because of his obsession with fire--the nerves in his hands don't seem to work right, and he can't feel pain anywhere in said hands, so if he's not watching out for burns forming, he will often end up needing a skin graft. He will often ask others to watch him to tell him if they smell burning flesh, because he's tired of needing skin replacement surgeries--it keeps him from working. He works in many types of fields; bombs, fire technology, weapons, and smithy, and enjoys his worth thoroughly.
Ref 16 ;; A photojournalist, he loves Pokémon and the environment and strives for people to at least attempt to see things from the view of an environmentalist, wanting to show the human race how beautiful their world really is. Other than that, not many ideas.
Ref 17 ;; A seventeen-year-old whom ran away from home at age ten and nearly killed himself, he was picked up by a drug dealer (probably the guy from ref 9 xD). After living with the guy for a couple weeks he finally ran away from him, not wanting to get caught up in the drug world--he was a well-educated kid. That, and because the man's clients were starting to want to have sex with him, and he always had high standards and didn't want to think of himself as a "fucking faggot", in his own ten-year-old words. Lived on the streets all his life and still does, doing odd jobs, but unable to do anything with his life or get out of his circular spiral of a situation because he refuses to allow people to use his body in exchange of money. He has a kid, though, because he fucked some chick some years back and she got pregnant and was too poor to have an abortion, and stuck the little boy with him, so now he's got a four-year-old kid to take care of, as well, but he really loves his son, so he doesn't mind as much. He's overly protective of his son, too. Recently, he's come to grips with the fact that he's never been able to like women, physically or sexually, and he's trying to accept that he believes he's homosexual.
Ref 18 ;; Not twins. A young man whom lost his twin brother in the womb, he grew up seeing "Jeremy"--which was actually what his mother was planning on naming him, not his brother, before deciding upon something else. After awhile his parents got tired of his insistence upon an imaginary friend, and when he refused to say that he was just making it up, they sent him to a ward that specialized in childrens' cases. There, he connected even further with Jeremy despite that they were "trying to break us apart"; and, there, he also discovered his love for two things: other males (he was 12 when he was put in, and a 16-year-old took interest in him, but they never had sex or anything like that, just cuddled, the 16-year-old was a sweetheart), and art. He began painting; he would paint anything and everything he saw and spent all of his time in the art room doing nothing but using up all the paints. He would always complain how they didn't have the right colors for him, that he needed strange colors like a green-red, or a purple-orange, and that mixing them never worked right no matter how he tried. His paintings, however, were what kept him there--he began painting deranged "crazy" things around age 14, and by age 16, he had began acting even more psychotic. By age 18 he was "getting better", but that was because he was so heavily medicated that he couldn't even talk, most of the time, and at age 19 (which is how old he'd be now), they released him on a "trial release", insisting that he bond with some other earthly creature as a sort of "alternative healing" method. So, they decided to shove him off into the world of Pokémon. And he'd be 'morph of some sort whom decided to dye all his hair and 'fur' black, though it was naturally dark brown and never faded out. And yes, he still has Jeremy hanging around with him.
Ref 19 ;; An eighteen-year-old whom was diagnosed with Congenital insensitivity to pain, meaning he can't feel pain. It was hard growing up, having so many problems because he never felt pain as an infant, so he never knew he was injuring himself. When he was two, he was rubbing his right eye and pulling on it so bad that it became badly injured and it had to be surgically removed; now he just has a cleaned-out, rather interesting-looking eye socket that he keeps an eye path over. His parents couldn't afford to take care of him so he was sent to an orphanage where he received even less attention and only injured himself further. He was finally hospitalized when he electrocuted himself when he stuck a wet fork an over-worked electric socket. He didn't even cry. He stayed in the hospital for a couple years, and when he was eleven he was finally adopted by a family whom could afford him both financially and emotionally. They cared for him deeply, took good care of him, and did everything in their power to help him. When he was fourteen he began getting interested in the dark arts and set the house on fire with candles by accident, killing his adopted parents and burning his body pretty badly. He lived in the (same) orphanage again until he turned 18 (recently), and they kicked him out and told him to go "get a life". Since the death of his adoptive parents he's fallen into depression, always threatening to injure himself to get his way, and it's always worked. He's probably stubborn, hates not getting his way, and probably dislikes people whom don't do as he says. He was taught to say 'ow' whenever he felt pressure, though, so he'll still say that on occasion, but not if he's trying to get his way with something.
You think I've had a lot of characters? Now you know how many fucking ideas I DON'T use that I GET IN MY HEAD THAT I WANT TO USE! Filtering out the best of the rest and the ones that will hold my interest for the longest amount of time is difficult, as well as choosing which I can best write. Once I get the ideas in my head, it is very difficult to allow them to not take at least some sort of tangible shape. If I acted on every impulse character I've ever had for Kairuu alone, I'd probably have some 50 characters just on Kairuu soil.
*I probably will develop any of these unused ideas into characters that you guys can adopt. c:
FEEL FREE TO MAKE COMPLETELY NEW SUGGESTIONS.
You don't have to use just my basic ideas, they're only basic. c:
Why am I doing this?
Well, I feel like all my characters are too similar, even if they aren't. =/ They always feel very similar to me, even though I'm constantly told that I make such interesting, diverse characters. I want to go to places you guys haven't seen me to before, and I'm not quite positive of how to do that. So instead of wracking my brain, I just decided I'd ask you guys, in the form of a contest. :]
Honestly, it's how I thought of making a contest board in the first place... x3
But there's still shit in it for you.
Like most people, I've accumulated many Pokémon. And I'm going to get rid of them. I'll list the prizes at the bottom, but first...
How does this work?
Well, I want people to give me ideas, details. Perhaps even outline basics of how their history could have been, develops deep parts of their personality, builds them a family--anything you can think of. You don't have to do much, just throw out an idea!
All you have to do is type down your idea and post it. There's no formal code or interface or anything, just give me your opinions, ideas, and all of that. :]
Rules
Prizes and how it works
Everyone whom gives me an idea will be put into one of two raffles. They're free. :]
Small ideas, like small suggestions, are put towards "Raffle One"; one slot for every idea.
Larger ideas, like expansive family history, in-depth personality outlines, or history frameworks will be put towards "Raffle Two"; one slot per large idea.
I don't have a set end date for this. Once I finish developing the character and the character is accepted, then I will close this and the raffle will commence.
The tickets are not numbered. You get your name written down once for every idea, and afterwords each name will be randomly assigned a number; so if you gave 3 ideas, you may have numbers 2, 18, and 32. I will use a random number generator on Gaia to determine the winners. There will be three winners for each raffle.
The Actual Prizes
There are two raffles, and two prize sets.
Raffle Two
The order in which winners get to choose their Pok?mon:
Raffle two, first place -> Raffle one, first place -> Raffle two, second place -> Raffle one, second place -> Raffle two, third place -> Raffle one, third place.
Why? Raffle two deals with the larger ideas, and since more effort is typically put towards those, I want to give them first choice.
Here's the catch.
Pokémon from Raffle One will be given as is.
Pokémon from Raffle Two will all be put in the daycare as soon as I announce the winners, and will be taken out once I put my character through the lab and finish his PC. I'll pay for all of the levels, and you get to have the Pokémon leveled up, free of charge. :D Of course, if you don't want to wait, you can opt for 'Raffle Two Option Two', which is that I can just level it up to level 10 for you, but option one will probably account for higher levels. :]
[/ul]
So now what you've been waiting for.
-cough- Except not really.
