Here on Kairuu, we've gone a bit further than most; here, you are allowed to carry a grand total of seven (7) Pokémon on your team at a time; six Pokémon to battle with, and one to act only as an entourage, a companion, a non-battling entity. The penalty for attempting to force an entourage Pokémon to battle is a warning. Anything further will result in a suspension and removal of that Pokémon from your character's party; anything even further results in removal of that character and a longer suspension.
Pokémon not carried around by the character in their party must be placed in a separate storage list in the PC.
Eggs do take up a party slot. You may only carry up to one egg on you at any time, and you must be mindful that Pokémon eggs are fragile. We will post "Oops! You broke your egg!" if you are doing things that would result in such.
If you find yourself with a full team, you may switch Pokémon between your main party and your storage as you wish; this may be done out of character, whenever needed. However, you may not switch Pokémon around during battle. If you do, you will be forced to forfeit the battle (we'll make you loose if you don't), and you will receive a warning. Do it again and you'll get yourself a little suspension. And, you know what? If you just so happen to do it again, we might just ban you.

There are many ways to level-up your Pok?mon; feed them rare candies, stuff them into the Daycare Center, battle against wild Pokémon or other trainers, or take part in the Duinsmoor Battle Tower leveling systems. While the Daycare Center and Rare Candies are all a fixed system, any form of battle--pitting your trainer's Pokémon against another Pokémon in any sort of way--use the following level chart to determine how many levels are gained.
With this system, it is up to the mod to determine how many levels are gained upon victory. It is discouraged for mods to give out the max amount of levels, especially in easy battles.
Level of Enemy | Levels Gained From Winning | Levels Gained from Losing | -4 | 1-2 | 0 | Within 3 | 3-5 | 1 | 4+ | 5-8 | 2 |
*The level of the enemy is compared to the Pokémon you're using. If you're using a level 15 Pok?mon, then -4 would be an enemy with a level of 11 or less; within 3 would be of levels 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, or 18 (up to 3 less and up to 3 more), and 4+ would be levels 19 and beyond.
Here's something that we do differently, though.
In Kairuu, there's no such thing as a level cap. Pokémon do eventually stop learning moves naturally, but they never stop gaining power. Pokémon can level up beyond the well-known level 100. While level 100 is considered a "Power cap", Pokémon in Kairuu may appear over level 100. Pokémon over the level of 100 are titled "Superbeasts".
When you when against an NPC trainer, you will earn some money. The amount of money depends upon the levels of the trainer you have battled.
The formula for determining the amount of money a trainer wins is:
Add up the levels of each Pokémon the NPC used & x by 100. In most cases, that's: Pokemon1+pokemon2+pokemon3=# x 100 =quid earned. Occasionally you will run into NPCs with more or less than 3 Pokémon.
So, if you're battling Tania of Route 1, that would be 3+4=7x100=700. So you would get 700q from defeating her. But say you were battling Darian of Route 14. That would be 36+36+37=109x100=10,900. So you would earn 10,900q from defeating him.
Also, on a rare occasion, an NPC trainer may gift you with an item for defeating them. This will not be often, however, and the item will not be something extremely rare. Common items would include potions, Pokéballs of various types, healing items, and possibly even evolutionary stones from the stronger trainers. But even common items are rare to get.

Glorious day is the one when a trainer's Pokémon hits that crucial stage in their development and evolves, shape-shifting their form into a brand-new one. However, there are rules to evolution, and they were set by the game developers, not me. Here are rules for certain evolutions set by us, however, and if you do not abide by them, and if your Pok?mon's evolution is done prematurely, the process will be reversed and your Pokémon will never be able to attempt evolution again.
- Pok?mon that evolve via leveling up do so naturally once they hit that level; for example, when your trainer's Mareep hits level 15, it'll evolve into Flaaffy.
- If your Pokémon evolves by leveling up, then it must evolve when it reaches that level unless you previously attached an Everstone to it as a hold item.
- Pokémon that evolve via an Elemental Stone will do so immediately when subjected to one.
- Pokémon that require a certain item (Metal Coat, King's Rock, Dragon Scale) and a trade to evolve, as well as those who simply need the trade--without an item--will evolve when the item is attached and traded. Naturally. Most people will want to keep their Pok?mon, however, so to do this on your own, visit the Trade Corner in the Kairuu Supermall.
- Some Pokémon require a certain time of day to evolve. Thus, pay attention to the setting of that roleplay if trying to evolve your Pokémon.
- If your Pokémon requires a certain hold item to evolve, then they must be holding that item in order to evolve. Naturally.
- Pokémon that evolve via happiness draw the love and affection from their trainers and once sufficiently satisfied, will evolve into their next forms. Baby Pokémon are generally easy to satisfy, thus making it easier to evolve one. To evolve your Pokémon, PM an admin with your request, providing proof (via links to your various travel threads) that the trainer has been treating his Pokémon kindly, and making an effort to forge a bond. If we consider it sufficient, your Pokémon will be allowed to evolve.
- Pokémon that evolve via location do so in Kairuu, as well; areas have been confirmed where Eevee, Magneton, and Nosepass may evolve into their respectful next forms (Leafeon, Glaceon, Magnezone, and Probopass, respectively). All that is required is a visit to this area, followed by a level gained in the area itself, and your Pokémon will evolve.
- Feebas evolves much in the same manner as those that require happiness/friendship; PM an admin with proof that the trainer has been making a conscious effort to make the Pokémon feel good about itself, and you'll be allowed to evolve the creature in question.
- Any Pokémon that require a combination of evolution methods, such as holding an item and leveling up at a certain time of day, or having a certain amount of happiness at a certain time of day, must fulfill all requirements to evolve.
