1.1 Maturity
This site was meant to be different; this site is different from those pathetically childish, fairytale-style roleplay regions. If you're going to join us, you may as well have a reality slap. This site is rated R, Mature, X, whatever you want to use to refer to its level. If you're under the age of sixteen, I don't suggest joining this place. I am not going to lower my ratings for children, and I'm also not going to take responsibility for scarred consciences. Unless you're sixteen, or just magically as mature as a sixteen-year-old, I suggest you turn around and find a new place to go to. Lying about your age is also guaranteed to get you the boot. [Note that members from the old Kairuu needn't worry, as Alli and I both know them well. New members on the old Kairuu transferring here should be at least sixteen.]
My Admin and I aren't going to baby you; we want this site to be a mature, realistic place. Here's a few facts, courtesy of both of us. Pokémon bleed. Humans bleed. Pokémon die, humans die. Violence, romance, sex, fighting, killing... it all happens. Gay love happens, and, as far as you should know, both Alli and I roleplay male-male characters. We don't tolerate homophobes, people who slander homosexuality, people who are supposedly 'disgusted' by it, and people who outright refuse to acknowledge it.
I may as well mention early on that all forms of sexuality are welcomed [as noted in article two of the Laws of Kairuu; shounen-ai, shojo-ai, yaoi, yuri, shota... they're allowed. I might also mention that both twincest and incest are allowed, so if you have a problem with anyone roleplaying as such characters, in other words myself, either avoid the place altogether or keep your fat mouth shut. I recently created a pair of identical twins [Kecleon Pokemorphs] to celebrate Kairuu's revival, and just for your information, yes, Manson and Demitri are brothers, and in a sexual relationship. If you have a problem with it, too bad. For those of you not familiar with those Japanese/English words describing those terms, I'll post them below.
Shounen-ai is, very bluntly put, boy-on-boy love. Shoujo-ai is, likewise, girl-on-girl love. Yaoi is male-on-male, usually a little more hardcore than shounen-ai. Yuri is the female equivalent of yaoi. Shouta is a pairing involving an older person with a younger person. It goes for both yaoi and yuri pairings. Incest, in short, is a sexual relationship between two family members, be it sister and brother, cousin and cousin, etc. Twincest is identical in meaning to incest, only restricted to, as the title states, twins. My Kecleon boys, Manson and Demitri are twincestuous.
We do not tolerate sexism, offensive stereotypes, and most of all, obscenely inflated female characters. A person seen creating a tiny little vixen with H-cup breasts will have their account removed; I will not tolerate immature pricks with reality issues. If you can't create a remotely realistic character, don't create one at all. Alli and I will not stand for insults directed toward ourselves, how we run the site, nor our characters. We've had a lot of bullshit directed at us on Kairuu II, and it's not going to repeat itself here.
Supposing it's going to be an issue with male members, I may as well bring it up here; one complaint about someone's male character looking too feminine, and you're in for an interrogation for reasons why. I've met a lot of gay males in my lifetime, and while some of them could pass for a straight male, the others may as well wear a skirt. While realism is better, character designs are allowed to be extravagant and reality-stretching. As long as a character has unique traits, and isn't a complete Mary Sue or John Smith, we couldn't give a flying fuck less if your boy looks like a girl.
If you're not going to roleplay in a realistic fashion, don't bother joining at all. This site is meant to be different, and it will stay that way. I don't care that Pokémon is supposedly directed toward little children, because it wasn't. By rights, this site should be considered a haven to those seeking a proper, excellent Pokémon roleplay experience. Vulgar language and situations will happen, whether you like it or not.
If you haven't given up yet, read on to the next section. We'll be glad to have ya.

1.2 Interaction OOC
You may have noticed we've quite an array of interaction; ChatBox, Private Messaging, Instant Messaging, the Member Café... not to even mention roleplaying in itself. If you were lucky, you learned some social skills when you were a child. You know how to say hello, how to be polite... good.
Neither Alli nor I are going to hold your hands here. We'll say hello if you have the common sense to introduce yourself in the Chatbox or through a message; if you're not going to allow us the courtesy of meeting you, you may as well leave. I've long since come to the conclusion that, if a member rarely speaks to his or her peers on a roleplaying forum, they usually end up leaving because their experience, in their opinion, is boring. I prefer knowing who's who on my site, which is why you'll most likely see people who know each other well. If you're going to be an antisocial fuck, go ahead and join some other antisocial fucks' site.
I don't tolerate fighting over the chatbox, considering I've done a lot of it myself, and the end result isn't something you want to witness. I don't give a crap about your petty reasons to hate somebody unless it's a real, genuine reason, and trust me, Alli and I both have people we despise outright, so we'll know whether or not you're just bitching for the sake of drama. I don't need your real-life issues if I don't know you, but I'll be more than glad to listen if you're willing to be sensible about them; I won't act as your psychiatrist, considering I probably need one myself for all the shit I've been through in my life, but at least you'll have someone to talk to, be it online or offline.
Another thing I will never accept is slandering and/or insulting another person's style of life. It is, first of all, not your place to determine how slender or heavy someone should be, what they should wear, or how they should take care of themselves; I ban labels here. I don't want to hear people referring to each other as punk, goth, emo, hippie, prep, ghetto, or whatever other names you may have invented. As far as I'm concerned, we're all the same, with traits that make us unique. I couldn't care less if you're anorexic or obese, it's really none of my concern, and it's also no one's place to insult anyone for such trivial matters. If you're not interested in befriending someone because of their social status/appearance, good for you. Go contaminate somewhere else with your presence.
I don't tolerate people insulting persons I consider important to me. You give Alli a hard time, I'll give you a hard time. You give me a hard time... well, I can guarantee she'll probably give you a duffing up. I don't meant to come off as a cunt, by no means, but I'm sick and tired of crap I shouldn't be repeating over and over. Just act your goddamn age and we won't have a problem.

1.3 Pokémon behavior
This may or may not actually belong here; anyway, you should know that characters living in Kairuu [Pokemorph or not] will understand Poketongue; this means that you don't have to post a long list of gibberish for your character's Raichu if he decides to comment upon something. We would like you to bold character dialogue and separate it with "quotation marks" in order to make reading your posts easier on our Admins and Mods. Due to an unknown force in the region of Kairuu, humans, be they native to the region or newcomers from a foreign land, are gifted with the ability to speak to and understand the speech of Pokémon. It is up to you to define the personality and style of speech your character's Pokémon utilizes; just understand that your trainer's Bulbasaur will say "I'd like to make a comment pertaining to this conversation," instead of "Bulba bul bul bulbasaur," so please remember that.
Mystical and wondrous as they may be, Pokémon are no more than animals with fancy abilities; therefore, they bleed. They can die. They can become ill, they can have different personalities, they can have problems. The possibilities are endless. However powerful they may become, Pok?mon can still get hurt, gravely or not, and they can also die--not every Pok?mon will be able to withstand a Snorlax's Body Slam attack and live. (Or even escape without crushed bones.) While it is not always advisable to let your Pok?mon die--you will not get them back ever again--it adds a decent amount of drama to the roleplay.
Even under a trainer's instruction, not all Pok?mon will obey blindly; some species remain fiercely independent, even arrogant, while others may simply submit and suffer silently. You should take into account how the Pok?mon may have behaved in the wild, and incorporate that into its personality description. Creativity is always the key, and you have to have plenty of that to survive in Kairuu.
