1.1 Training Pok?mon
Obviously, at some point, your character is going to run into a battle, be it against a trainer or a wild Pokémon. While most of you probably will get bored, and your posts will get short... don't even think about it. Making your level one Weedle be able to somehow defeat a level ten Pidgey just doesn't work. If you don't make your Pokémon lose at some point, an admin will send in an NPC to forcefully defeat the offending creature. Just so you don't complain, here's a list of tactics to use during a battle.
1.1.1 Deal Damage
The most basic manner of attack, you may choose to use a move such as Tackle or Ember to assault your opponent with; these moves may be used once per turn, and are counted as either direct or indirect.
1.1.2 Divide and Conquer
This tactic is a tad different. You can use a combination of a distracting attack + a damage-dealing attack. Such combinations are things like Swords Dance + Slash, Leer + Tackle, Sand Attack + Scratch, etc. You can also combine attacks that heighten your own stats, such as Howl + Tackle, Meditate + Confusion, etc.
1.1.3 Shield and Heal
This category includes attacks considered 'Uber-moves'; things like Recover, Protect, Detect, etc. You may use one of these per turn, to a maximum of three times per battle. Note that Recover and Protect are one-Pok?mon use only (meaning you cannot use Recover on another Pokémon to heal it.) Of course, if you're in a double battle (TWO VS. TWO), you may have one Pokémon use Recover, etc. while the other Attacks. Simple as that.
1.1.4 Items Are a Trainer's Best Friend
You may also, if you choose to do so, use up a turn to employ an item in the midst of a battle. These include things like Potions, Revives, Full Heals, and Stat Boosters. Of course, it's one Item per turn, and you completely forfeit your ability to attack during this turn in order to use an healer.
1.1.5 Avoid and Retaliate
If you have to, you may have your Pokémon dodge one attack, and then strike back with a move of its own. Don't overdo it, though. This is all about creativity. Any Pokémon can successfully dodge up to three times before being hit. If you're seen abusing this tactic, your Pok?mon will automatically lose.
1.1.6 Ye Olde Switcheroo and Do
You may withdraw your active Pokémon (be if fainted or not), and bring in another, AND let the new Pokémon attack. Of course, excessive switching is considered cheating, and it will not earn you levels.
1.1.7 Watch and Learn
Say you have an Abra or a Ralts, and you really want one of them to gain levels, but they have no proper moves to battle with. (Abra doesn't learn Confusion until it evolves into Kadabra, and Ralts doesn't learn it until level 6.) This means you can bring it out to be a sideline helper. A sideline helper is a Pokémon that assists the main active Pokémon by employing moves such as Growl, Leer, or Sand Attack to help the main Pok?mon, and gain some experience in the process. It's a fairly useful thing to do, especially if you want that Ralts to become a Gallade some day.

1.2 Leveling up
Naturally, if your Pok?mon defeats another, or ingests Rare Candies, or is left at the Daycare for some time, it is bound to gain levels. Now, as the amount of levels a Pok?mon gains by Rare Candies or the Daycare is fixed, the chart below pertains only to trainer vs. trainer, trainer vs. wild, etc.
The chart is © Alli.

1.3 Ohemgee, my Pok?mon's evolving!
Glorious day is the one when a trainer's Pokémon hits that crucial stage in their development and evolves, shape-shifting their form into a brand-new one. However, there are rules to evolution, and they were set by the game developers, not me. Here are rules for certain evolutions set by me, however, and if you do not abide by them, and if your Pok?mon's evolution is done prematurely, the process will be reversed and your Pokémon will never be able to attempt evolution again.
- Pok?mon that evolve via leveling up do so naturally once they hit that level; for example, your trainer's Mareep hits level 15, it'll evolve unless you have attached an Everstone to it, or simply refuse to let it evolve. Forcing a Pokémon not to evolve, however, can cause severe internal damage, and even death; the amount of power contained within the Pok?mon's body bursts forth in order to change its appearance, and if this is forcefully suppressed, the results are often reversed and cause searing pain and permanent damage. An Everstone held by a Pokémon attempting to evolve will gently guide the gathered power into itself, thus safely preventing evolution.
- Pok?mon that evolve via an Elemental Stone will do so immediately when subjected to one; these evolutions cannot be prevented by any means, as the Pokémon draws power from the stone's radiation and changes form.
- Pok?mon that require a certain item (Metal Coat, King's Rock, Dragon Scale) and a trade to evolve will evolve when the item is attached, i.e. a trainer coats his Onix's hide with the Metal Coat, withdraws it into its Pokéball and sends it through the trader machine. When the Onix is safely through the trader machine and released from its Pok?ball, it will evolve into Steelix.
- Pok?mon that evolve via trade alone (Machoke, Kadabra, and Haunter) need only be processed through a trader machine in order to initiate the evolution process.
- Pok?mon that evolve via happiness draw the love and affection from their trainers and once sufficiently satisfied, will evolve into their next forms. Baby Pokémon are generally easy to satisfy, thus making it easier to evolve one. (You must judge happiness yourself, but be reasonable; an Igglybuff will not evolve into Jigglypuff after a day of being with their trainers).
- Pok?mon that evolve via location use items in Kairuu instead; scientists have found that an Eevee holding a Leaf Stone will evolve into Leafeon once it climbs to level 20, and an Eevee subjected to a NeverMeltIce will evolve into Glaceon once it hits level 20.
- Feebas will evolve into Milotic if a Heart Scale is attached; the Feebas will have to rise to level 20 in order to evolve, and must be treated kindly in order for the Pokémon to feel sufficiently beautiful.

1.4 Evolution changes
When the fourth generation came along, some Pokémon gained brand-new evolutions [and some of them are butt-fucking-ugly, anyway, so...]. Since these Pokémon evolve in Sinnoh's areas, and Kairuu lacks areas identical enough to them, so the scientists have worked diligently to find similar conditions in order to make it possible for them to evolve.
[/u] usually evolves by gaining levels at the Moss Rock in Sinnoh's Eterna Forest, but as Kairuu has no such place, scientists have discovered a Leaf Stone has the same effect, if held by an Eevee until the creature grows to level 20. Glaceon usually evolves by gaining levels at the Ice Rock near Sinnoh's Snowpoint City, but as Kairuu has no such place, scientists have determined that a NeverMeltIce works the same effect if held by an Eevee until the Pokémon grows to level 20. Probopass requires the magnetic environment of Mt. Coronet to evolve from Nosepass into its Rock-Steel form, but as Kairuu, again, lacks such an area, scientists have determined that a Nosepass holding a Hard Stone until it grows to level 40 will initiate the same effect. Magnezone requires the magnetic environment of Mt. Coronet to evolve from Magneton into its Magnezone form, but as Kairuu, again, lacks such an area, scientists have determined that a Magneton holding a Magnet until it grows to level 40 will initiate the same effect.[/ul][/ul][/blockquote][/blockquote]
