Sunday is Mother's Day. I don't celebrate mother's day. But Kairuu does, and this is why. [And yes this is the thing I bitched over the cbox about loosing, I had almost everything done and LOLPOOF. >:[ So yes that's why this version is shorter, shittier, and NOT the original way I worded it, meaning it won't ever satisfy me.] Disclaimer: I know it's long despite being not as long as it would have been had proboards not post my post. If you don't want to read it all, don't! Skip down some until the part just past the paragraphs with names in colorfulishnotreally links to find how the event works.
While only a few will even whisper the myths and stories of the Legendary Creation of the entirety of existence, many will easily state off plenty of facts about the Seven Mothers of Kairuu.
The Seven Mothers of Kairuu were seven strong women. They were also pirates.
They were all at the helms of a ship; their crew was led by the only human of the seven--the rest were PokeMorphs. Many men volunteered to work for them; they got so many able-bodied volunteers that they had to close applicants.
Except, all the men wanted was sex. And after a few months, they all realized that none of them were getting any of that. So during the night they tied their leaders up, raped them all, and sent them to drift on a little dingy into uncharted waters.
After a week of dehydration and starvation, they noticed a distant land. At the expenditure of what little energy they had left, they rowed fast and hard until they landed on the sandy beach of a seemingly uninhabited land. They soon found a sprawling, clean spring; the whole place was covered in berries and fruits. And once they were satisfied, they began exploring.
They explored the land for some time and soon realized that they were probably the only humans on the entire continent. At least, that was what they thought.
Until they found the shrine.
But then they were proven right.
Inside was a single, pink, glowing little Pokémon.
Mew.
They all knew the legend of Mew being the "mother Pok?mon" of all living Pok?mon--and, perhaps, even things. But she told them that there was another, one higher than herself; he had created her to create for him. He was a deity; the highest existence in the universe. And in a sudden sparkle of pink, they were standing before him, surrounded by colors melting together, starts, images, senseless noise. A humongous white beast with sprawling golden spikes and a booming voice.
"Kairuu is an infant region," he spoke. "No humans. And yet, here you are. I know how you all came to Kairuu. You seven women, all with children due--" At this they all started whispering to each other. But he broke their mutters. "Yes. All seven of you will have children. It is not your fault, but they must be born. They will be the vanguards of Kairuu--it is your seven sons that will go out into the world and bring others to this wonderful land. It is called Kairuu, and people must come to it. I place this duty on you, with two gifts. One, that I will bless this region--it is only within the limits of Kairuu that I will allow Pokémon and humans to perfectly understand one another's speech. And two, that you will be the watchers of this world. When your physical bodies have exhausted themselves, your spirits will become deified and will return to the shrine. There you will remain unless needed; ever-watchful protectors of Kairuu. The Seven Holy Mothers."
None knew quite what he meant; in an instant they were back in the shrine, Mew with them. For awhile they continued to wander around the region newly-dubbed Kairuu, Mew showing up occasionally.
The first son born was a month early. A month later, within a week of each other, the other six were born. The fourteen of them lived in peace together with few quarrels for years. And, finally, then they were all sixteen, Mew came to them with Arceus' order: Send them out into the world to send others here. And although it pained the mothers to have to send away their children, somehow all the boys understood. Taking a guardian Pokémon each from the vast reaches and crevices of Kairuu, they rode water Pokémon and flying Pok?mon, dissipating over the world.

Lunica, the only human of the seven, gave birth to Reji. He took the strongest Feraligatr he could find as his guardian and went to Hoenn, where he became well known for his ability to train any Pok?mon, no matter how unruly. There he helped those with health issues; he took many sickly people and sent them to Kairuu, hoping the clean air would do them good. And for most, their lives were spared, save for a couple of terminal patients. He sent the first foreigners to Kairuu.
Shaya was the child of high-ranking members of a cult that worshiped Pok?mon; all members were pokemorphs. She escaped one night; to this day she has no clue how. She gave birth to the premature child Kuuro. Choosing Persian as his partner, he went to Johto, where the cult dwelled; they had become more peaceful, but some members were still ruthless to unwanted children. He took those children, as well as orphans and other abused and unwanted children, to Kairuu on many ferries, where they were given a better life. It was Kuuro that sent the first PokeMorph foreigner to Kairuu.
Chiyou, a lovely Espeon Pokemorph, was born a slave and at a young age used her psychic powers to escape. She lived with Lunica, and it was those two whom first thought of becoming pirates. She gave birth to Klan. With him he brought a Dusknoir and traveled to Kanto. There he trained privately and secretly, becoming one of the strongest underground trainers--strong, and yet few people had heard of him, just like he wanted. As he gained utmost respect in his inner circle he began convincing other extremely strong trainers to go to a land of nothing but possibility--Kairuu. And one day they went; he stayed behind, continuing to train others to be good enough to go. It was one of his most trusted students that controlled the first Kairuu Superbeast.
Kona, a bit of a shy girl but proud none the less, came from a family of Ghosts. She trained her son, Tygo, to be a hunter of ghost Pok?mon, to capture, and to train them. He searched long and hard for his guardian; finally his patience was rewarded, and he managed to befriend a Spiritomb. When he finally traversed the sea he arrived in Johto and settled near Ecruteak, home of the ghosts. But eventually he began searching the lands high and low; he befriended many loners and recluses. Eventually he convinced almost all of them to move to Kairuu together and build a perfect life for themselves. It is said that Lexus, the strongest Elite 4 member, is a direct descendant of Tygo, whom was rumored to have impregnated one of those loners.
Yaga, a beautiful and highly-traditional woman, was said to collect groups of Vulpix and Ninetails, being a Ninetails 'morph. She was a very proud woman. Her son, Ron, was also very proud, but a bit uncontrollable at times, having inherited a touch of fiery will from his mother. His mother chose the strongest Ninetails in all of Kairuu for him to be partnered with--it was his choice, and she did so at his request. He went to Sinnoh where he explored high and low for people that interested him--quirky, strange people, a good majority of them homosexuals. He managed to befriend them and get them to move to Kairuu. Though there are few homophobes living in Kairuu, it is said that they believe they can blame Ron for bringing all the gays to the land--when in reality he just wanted them to live a better life filled with far less hate; Kairuu was, after all, the land of perfection. Everyone was accepted there.
Mina, a girly little thing, was absolutely in love with Pokémon and wanted nothing less than to make each and every one happy. She shipped her son Danny off to Almia, the region known best for it's friendliness to Pokémon. With him he brought a Furret. In Almia he became a highly skilled ranger, but he specifically became friendly with a scientist whom was very into field work. While the two remained in Almia--together--the man sent off a large group of his university students to Kairuu, at Danny's request. The first biologist to arrive in Kairuu was one of those students.
Bek was the most gorgeous of all the Seven Mothers. Her personality was very strange, however; she seldom spoke and she never seemed to act quite... right. Eventually it became known that she had a microchip in her brain, that she was an experiment by a group of scientists. When it was removed she became very isolated for awhile--but slowly opened up, eventually becoming the Patron Mother, known for her absolute kindness no matter what one's sins were. She never refused a Pokémon or person if it needed help. She and Yaga were very close as friends, being of the same breed of pokemorph. The son she bore was Vin. It is said he spent an entire week thinking of what guardian to bring with him, before finally deciding on a Pichu, whom evolved quickly as they became the best of friends very fast--he did not want a guardian, so much, as a true friend. When he arrived in Kanto he quickly became famous for his geographical studies and his maps. He and his Pikachu were talked about constantly; it became very popular to be friends with the little electric rodent, and still is today. He was very kind to everyone. Eventually he convinced a large group of people with a very wide range of skills to travel to Kairuu to help improve it. It was from him that Kairuu felt the usefulness of commoner labor, of real money use, and of industry. And Kairuu was grateful for that, for it meant it was finally becoming real.
So, what do you get for reading that annoyingly long amount of information? Here's how it goes. In Kairuu, Mother's Day is both the celebration of actual mothers, grandmothers, and the like, as well as the celebration of the Seven Holy Mothers. Every year the day before Mother's Day and for the entire next day, the Sacred Shrine opens up to patrons. While only one person is allowed in at a time and it is under only the heaviest, strictest police control, for those that come, it is worth it, as it is a blessing. Every person who goes is allowed just enough time to pray at one of the seven altars--each Holy Mother having their own--in hopes of being blessed by their kind souls. The person must forfeit all Pokémon on hand save the one they desire to be blessed--they will receive their Pokémon back from the guard upon leaving.
So, what are the blessings said to be?
- Lunica
If one prays at Lunica's Altar, their Pokémon will have the ability to learn more moves than normal Pok?mon--up to eight.
- Shaya
If one prays at Shaya's Altar, their Pokémon will have a 50% chance of being blessed with a move requested by the trainer that the Pokémon would not normally be able to learn, or has since lost the ability to learn by evolution.
- Chiyou
If one prays at Chiyou's Altar, their Pokémon have a 50% chance of being given the power to use a psychic connection to speak with its owner through mental words alone. [Note: Psychic Pokémon can already do this, so do not waste your character's prayer. And note that 'mental words' mean telepathy.]
- Kona
If one prays at Kona's Altar, their Pokémon will have a slight chance to be given the ability 'Kesynthesis'--an extra ability, meaning it does not replace the Pok?mon's natural one. So far, only one person has ever gotten this--and that Pokémon died before it could find out what it did.
- Yaga
If one prays at Yaga's Altar, their Pokémon will have a 20% chance of becoming shiny.
- Mina
If one prays at Mina's Altar, their Pokémon will have an 80% chance of becoming very fast, no matter it's weight.
- Bek
If one prays at Bek's Altar, their Pokémon will have a 10% chance of permanently earning double levels. [Note: This is stackable with Lucky Eggs; 1 level with this and a lucky egg equals 4 levels.]
It is said that once one prays at an Altar in the Shrine, that Pokémon becomes soulbound to that individual--unless one dies, they are inseparable.
Every character may take one Pokémon in the Shrine and pray at one altar--so choose wisely. Only your main characters, no NPCs, please--upcoming characters are allowed, but make sure they keep that Pokémon. Simply post your characters, which Pok?mon, and which Altar--do not do it in roleplay format, that would take far too long for most people. Remember, Pokémon prayed with become soulbound!

Love the story [as I already told you, love]. It'll definitely have to be part of Kairuu's actual history. :D Anyway...
Artemis brings with him his Linoone, Taiki; he prays at Chiyou's altar for a psychic connection to manifest between himself and his beloved Linoone.
Noah brings with him his Umbreon. Nox; he prays at Lunica's altar for Nox to obtain the ability to learn up to eight moves.
Blair, though he's skeptical of this sort of stuff, brings with him his Gabite, in order to request the ability to learn the attack Roar of Time (assuming that's what you meant by 'learning any attack') from Shaya's altar.

Cain ended up being curious enough to bring his Houdour to Chiyou's altar, to see if he really could develop a secret way to speak with Ahriman.
Abel and his Chikorita arrive at Bek's shrine and offer up a prayer in an attempt to enhance Es's leveling abilities. Abel hopes it will boost the Chikorita's confidence if he can get stronger more quickly.
Sarah's adventures bring her to Kona's shrine, and upon realizing that she had no idea what the ability that was granted there did, immediately decided to give it a shot. She and her Growlithe stop and offer a quiet prayer.
Elijah brings with him his Buizel to Mina's shrine, as the Buizel hopes to be granted the gift of speed as to be a better 'secret agent'.

Nema brings his Tyranitar to Kona's altar. He doesn't really know much about the legends, but he's been feeling lucky.
Dakota brings his Totodile to Bek's altar. The little thing wants to be strong, and he figures that this is probably the best shot it has.
Atticus brings his Shinx to Bek's altar--if only because the Pok?mon both told him about the whole thing and demanded to be taken there.
Jack brings his Charmander to Lunica's altar; he knows that if the Pok?mon can somehow memorize more moves, he'll have a decent advantage in any fight.

Kahale brings his Torchic along with him to Bek's shrine. He offers up a short prayer, hoping that his Pokémon will be blessed with the ability to gain levels at a quicker rate.
Moz arrives at Chiyou's altar with his Murkrow perched silently on his shoulder. He takes a few minutes to pray, wishing for the ability to establish a mental connection with his most trusted companion.
Jarek, with his newly acquired Wooper in tow, pays a visit to Mina's shrine. After saying a quick prayer, he begins to wonder how fast his little Pokémon will actually become, if he receives such a blessing.
Harper and her Drowzee choose to visit Lunica's shrine, in hopes that Wraith will be able to learn a few extra moves.
