Whether you're returning, or this is your first time reading this, let me welcome you to Kairuu Kolme. As you may or may not know, Kairuu has had a bit of a past; this board is the third that Kairuu has been held on, and this is the latest, and hopefully last needed, reincarnation. Kairuu can only succeed, however, if everyone gives it their full effort--from the admin team down to the extraordinary members that are the lifeblood of Kairuu. And we are determined to get it right this time around. Make sure to get your reopening promotional Pokémon and items! Now, the following information is really only relevant to returning members, as it address things that have changed. As such, new members are free to read it if so, but are not required to. So, some of the changes, in no particular order: - The Safari Game has been rewritten.
- We've done away with our old rules and have completely rewritten them. So everyone must reread the rules.
- Kairuu finally has a contest system! The Dollmaker isn't up yet, but I'll get around to it within the next week (or two, if I get really busy or distracted by birthday gifts). Regardless, it should be open before anyone even needs to use it. If I see people getting that far so quickly, I'll drop my distractions and make it right away.
- Along with the contest system comes a new feature called the "AP System", for Attribute Points. Only people that plan to have their Pokémon participate in contests need to worry about this, so unless your trainer wants to do contests as well, only coordinators need to worry about this.
- If you have Pokémon you don't want or have a use for, why not donate them to the good Professor? Simply PM me with their information and we'll add them to the "Adopt a Starter" post in the Lab, where new trainers can adopt interesting, non-standard Pokémon for their starters!
- Going along with starters, the main twelve are now the only "normal" starters available (fire/water/grass). But you may adopt a donation, request a randomized Pok?mon, or even catch your own!
- Also, all characters will now get the same starter kit. It includes both the badge case and accessory case, as well as a Pokédex.
- We are adding a feature called 'dex Applications. These are little apps added to your Pokédex for various reasons; from a map of Kairuu to a system that tracks where you've been, the Exploration Tracker, to itemfinders.
- Along with the Exploration Tracker comes another new little feature--the TP system. It is explained in full detail under the travel rules, but it was created basically to encourage main-RP travel by limiting how much else you can do; certain other areas require you to have certain amounts of TP to visit, and using the cloning system (see below) and adoption agency will actually cost you TP. So it is made to encourage roleplaying.
- We've done away with breeding! Gone be the days of chance, the future is here and now. Although it'll cost you a pretty penny, you now have complete control over what your cloning results will be. But we've also set limits to these--we're kind of not that happy that Kairuu, in what little bit of life it has had in the past, has virtually every Pokémon known to man, and about twenty copies of it. No more of this infinite-Pok?mon shit.
- There's a new character skeleton. Sort off. Basically, it lists the bare minimum of things you must have. Otherwise, it's up to you how you choose to flesh it out. You guys should know by now what you need. If not, just peek at someone else's.
- We now require roleplay samples before being allowed to post your first character. This is to keep people from wasting time on a character only to get rejected for not being quite at the level we seek for Kairuu. This only applies to members whom have not yet gotten a character with a sample accepted.
- Minor thing, but the art board has been modified, and there is now a subforum for anyone wishing to accept commissions on their artwork (or graphics, or stories, or anything else).
- Obviously, there is a new layout.
- There have been a few new hacks implemented. Some of them aren't all that obvious. Please see the "Kairuu v6 Hacks" list in the Member Cafe for further details.
- Obviously, there's a new layout. I'm sorry if you guys don't really like yet another blue layout, or side content, but the first version I was planning on simply wasn't working. I do plan to make a handful of new layouts soon (and actually finish them--this is layout v6. You guys have seen lv2 and lv4. Yes, there are others that I never finished, thus never posted.). Hell, I'm going to be opening custom skin commissions--so if you really don't like it, maybe you'll get satisfied eventually.
- We now have implemented "seasons". This means that, depending on the season, certain types of Pokémon are more likely to show up than others. For instance, ice and dark Pokémon are more common in the winter, while fire, bug, and grass Pokémon are more common in the summer. See the "Season" side box for the current season and common Pokémon types.
- We're going to start doing spotlights: member of the month, character of the month, shop of the week (whether trainer or NPC), and other such things. There are gonna be a bunch of them, so keep your eyes peeled!
- Shops have been updated. They now feature a different layout. Also, this is very important: the main shop, Trainer Essentials (which also has a new catalog-style format) is going to operate differently. Using their Pok?dex, a character will order items from the Trainer Essentials store, and they will be delivered to the character (with a Delibird) on their current thread. However. Delibird will not deliver your items if you are in any sort of battle--and this is how we're going to keep people from cheating by buying potions and pokeballs and such during battle. Sorry, but that's just how it goes.
- We now have a Pokémon Center again--it's a sticky in 'Cohen Industries'; a weird place for it, and we might move it, but that's where it is for now. Characters will find 'PCT's in all cities/towns/etc.--Pok?mon Center terminals. These are where you heal your Pok?mon; you simply do so in-RP, and post a link to your thread where you healed (cities/towns only!) in the Pokémon Center board. We are going to be more strict about characters keeping their Pokémon healed. Really, you can't faint a Pok?mon, catch it, then send it out one thread later to fight if you haven't used a revive or taken it to a PCT. We're not going to let that fly.
So, that's the main stuff. There might be other things, but if so, they're probably pretty small if I can't remember them. Sorry for the huge amount of information, and for any new policies that might be annoying, but we're hoping you guys are excited for the new and improved Kairuu nonetheless! Happy existing! :D

Starter Kits
This only applies to old members whom got the previous starter sets under the old Kairuu.
The professor has only recently changed his starter kit items. So, naturally, all characters that went through the lab to attain their starter kits before his change will still have the old items. However, all characters that that applies to are allowed to switch to the new starter sets, granted you can remember what items were in the old one and remove them (because we sure as hell don't, at least, I don't).
Now, if you don't, you are still free to add the Badge Case or Accessory Case and Pokédex to your items list.
We'd prefer it if people switch to the new items, but we will not make you.
Pok?mon If you have any old, unwanted Pok?mon, feel free to donate them to the professor! To do so, just send me a PM with all the information you have about each Pokémon you're donating (species, gender, nicknames, and whether or not they're shiny; also, if they know any TM moves, send us that, as well--otherwise, we don't need attacks as all levels will be reset to oo5).
Note that you are now allowed to sell your Pokémon in Trainer Shops, and there will be an Auction feature coming up in the very near future, so if you have any unwanted Pokémon that might be considered valuable, feel free to keep them to sell.
No one is required to donate any Pokémon or anything like that.
