So, this feature is pretty damn cool. You can obviously see how it works, because it's being used in this post.
So, what the hell did we do here?
Well, I found this little nifty code that lets you insert background images into your posts. Yeah. You can also repeat them (either vertically, horizontally, or both ways--the code didn't have a "repeat all", but I added it in), and you can center it either vertically or horizontally--if you do both, it will be in the exact middle of your post, as long as it's not being repeated.
This code doesn't like to be shown in code tags, sorry! So to see how to do this, please go here:
clicky.
Note that they must be capital, and that you must have the : at the end.
Now, here are the keys for centering and repeating:
ry: Repeat Y-axis (vertically/up and down)
rx: Repeat X-axis (horizontally/right and left)
ra: Repeat all (repeats it both ways, to fill the post entirely)
cy: Center Y-axis (center it going down)
cx: Center X-axis (center it going across)
You can use cy and cx to center it in the middle of your post, but you cannot you ry and rx to repeat it completely; instead, you must use ra (I had to add it in for that reason). You can also repeat an image one way, and center it either one way or both ways.
Now, where do these snippets go? You put them immediately after the ":", and you separate them by "," if you use more than one. So if you wanted to repeat an image going down, and center an image across, you'd use the code:
Notice that you only use the repeating and centering snippets in the first part of the code, and not the ending tag.
This post uses RA to repeat the image both ways. If you repeat an image both ways (repeat-all, you have no need to center it.
This also works a lot like how an image works on a website; it will not stretch the page but, instead, it will simply cut off any extra bits of the image that can't fit into the space. So if you user an image that is too wide, some of it will get cut off.
You are free to use these for things like profiles, journals, PCs, and such. Official posts, such as announcements, rules, and the like, will have their own official image backgrounds.
