So I'm having a bit of trouble deciding whether or not to make my character, Drake, a PokéMorph or not. I've never made nor roleplay'd one before but I also tend to recycle characters and I know most sites frown upon them. So you can see my dilemma.
Drake himself is a humorous rogue of a person. He's loud, cocky, ambitious, short-tempered, immature, and an all-around dick of a person. He's seeking revenge against an old friend of his who caused the death of his little sister. That's the bare basics of Drake so far and I know I could flesh him out no matter which path I take: PokéMorph or no.
I was thinking if I did make him a PokéMorph, that it'd be tied to the reason his sister was killed and why his friend had a hand in it. Like a failed experiment or some such nonsense. If I don't make him a PokéMorph, then the story stays the same, except its his friend that gets experimented on due to reasons of his sister's death. As you can see, both stories can be equally as interesting and deep. I'm just stuck on which route to take from here. Any suggestions?

You're right, both ideas do sound interesting. It'd be quite neat if you had it happen to him, more so than his friend, but really, you should start writing it one way and if it doesn't work in your head, switch it around.
So yeah. I say go with it as if it happened to him, but if it just doesn't feel right as you write it, swap it around.

Thanks for the suggestion. Your solution is so simple and straight-forward; I'm almost upset I overlooked it. However, the reason I don't think this will work is because, as I've stated earlier, both scenarios work for me. I can see Drake being a PokéMorph and I can see him being a normal human.
Sadly, it's a matter of trust and interest on my part. I'm afraid that if I make him a PokéMorph that I'd roleplay him as a different kind of character entirely and lose the true essence of what I had hoped to capture in him as a person. However, I'm also afraid if I make him a normal human that I might lose interest in him and eventually abandon him.

Well that one's easy. XD Make him a regular human with that particular backstory, and then if you get bored of him whisk him away and make him into a Pokemorph through that experimentation! Unless, of course, the importance of the Pokemorph business and his sister dying comes, like, way in the past. Then that plan might not work so well.

Yes, that would be an amazing plan. Except for you were right, the experiment thing needs to happen in the past. =/
I think I'll stick with making him a PokéMorph for now. Maybe change around his personality to give him a more tortured and silently depressed outlook mixed in because of it.
