Name: Jasper Failen Age: 62 Gender: Male Sexuality: Straight Ethnicity: Caucasian Job: Retired war veteran Clothing Style: Not wanting to forget everything his life has stood for, Jasper elects to wear clothing that, to him, represents his time in the army. Not wanting to tarnish it, he doesn’t wear his uniform, but he does enjoy sporting a set of camouflage clothes, with thick socks and heavy boots, which also serve to keep him warm in the colder months. Occasionally, he might sport a similarly styled helmet that he wore while fighting. Personality: “When you’ve been through a war, kid, you learn to expect the unexpected.” Jasper has progressed a long way from jumping at rustling bushes. He takes things in stride, and has a calm attitude towards most things in life. He doesn’t get angry, but has a stoic manner of one who’s seen a lot and can’t understand why you’re getting annoyed with something trivial. He likes to impart little bits of his own wisdom, and is filled with stories to tell, but would much rather hear tales of wondrous things that have happened to others. History: “Say, boy, won’t you take a few minutes to have a battle with an old man? It’s been a long time, but, just this once, I’d like to remember what it feels like to be young. What do you say?” Jasper Failen never got to experience a Pokémon journey as a child. From the moment he was old enough, rather than depart from his home into the wonders of the Pokémon world, he instead departed into training camps, battle formations, and the scant meals of a soldier’s life. There was a war going on, and there was no time for battling other children with a Pokémon he had bonded with for life, having selected from a lab and befriended it. Still, he managed to not miss out entirely on the wonders of having a Pokémon companion. While on a scouting mission through the woods, he happened to come across a young Growlithe huddled down among the bushes…‘Happened’ as in ‘almost shot accidentally’. He had been young at the time, still jumping at any sound on the off chance that the enemy was sneaking up on him. He had managed to bond with that Growlithe that day, not quite in the same way that a child starting their Pokémon journey would, but it was the best he could do under the circumstances. The two of them remained partners throughout his time as a soldier, and went through things most would not. Jasper’ll tell you tales of the war if you ask, but in return, what he really wants is a Pokémon battle. Out of the war with a bum leg – he was hit during one battle, and never fully recovered – he’s still young enough at heart to wonder about actual journeys, and to wish that he could have gone on one of his own.
And of course, where would Jasper be without his companion and friend, Ammitt, the Growlithe?
Name- Ammitt Level- 22 [While he may not have been trained for Pokémon battles, Ammitt is just as much a veteran of war as Jasper, and has the strength to prove it.] Attacks- Flash Fire -Bite -Roar -Ember -Leer -Odor Sleuth Nature- Steadfast and loyal, Ammitt has seen many things that most people and Pokémon haven't because if his life at the army camps. He knows when it's time to be absolutely silent, and when to be as loud as possible to warn others of what's coming. It's been long enough since Jasper retired from army life for him to have learned that things aren't normally as dangerous as when he was surrounded by fighting, but he still considers anything that sounds like a gunshot to be a direct threat, and will treat it as such.
